Support for Mine Action
In 2011, Germany contributed €16,964,425 (US$23,633,140) in mine action funding.[1] The largest contribution (30% of Germany’s total contribution) went to Afghanistan (€5.5 million/$7.6 million), with three other states (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, and Lao PDR) each receiving more than €1 million ($1.4 million).
Germany provided support to 21 states with 87% of its mine action support in 2011 going toward clearance activities and 10% to victim assistance. The other 3% was allocated to advocacy, stockpile destruction (Libya), and risk education.
