Lesotho

The Kingdom of Lesotho signed the Mine Ban Treaty on 4 December 1997 and ratified it on 2 December 1998, becoming a State Party on 1 June 1999. Lesotho has never used, produced, imported, exported, or stockpiled antipersonnel mines, including for training purposes. Lesotho believes that existing legislation is sufficient to enforce the antipersonnel mine prohibition domestically. Lesotho submitted its fourth Mine Ban Treaty Article 7 report in 2011, and indicated that all information remained unchanged from previous reports.

Lesotho attended the Tenth Meeting of States Parties to the Mine Ban Treaty in Geneva in November–December 2010, but did not attend the intersessional Standing Committee meetings in Geneva in June 2011.

Lesotho is party to the Convention on Conventional Weapons but not its Amended Protocol II on landmines or Protocol V on explosive remnants of war.
