In 2013, no new casualties were reported in the Republic of Malawi.[1] The last recorded casualties occurred in 2010, when an unidentified explosive device killed two Mozambican boys and injured a man on the Malawi-Mozambique border.[2] Since 1999, the Monitor has identified a total of 12 casualties from mine or explosive remnants of war in Malawi, resulting in four people killed and eight injured.[3]
