Saint
Vincent and the Grenadines signed the Mine Ban Treaty on 3 December 1997, but
has not yet ratified. It is the only member of the Organisation of Eastern
Caribbean States (OECS) that has not ratified and the reason for the delay is
not known. In November 2000, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines voted in favor of
UN General Assembly Resolution 55/33V, calling for universalization of the Mine
Ban Treaty. It has never produced, transferred, stockpiled or used
antipersonnel mines and is not
mine-affected.[1]
