Events » Landmine Monitor Global Release – 28 days to go

Landmine Monitor Report 2006 is currently on the printing press and will be released globally on 13 September – only 28 days away.

This year’s report will be globally released at a press conference held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland on Wednesday 13 September at 10:00 local time (09:00 GMT). The report will be available online at the same time. A release of the global mine action findings will be held on 13 September in Bangkok, Thailand.

On or after 13 September many campaigns are organizing press conferences, roundtable discussions, meetings with government officials and other activities to release their national, regional and global report findings. All campaigners and researchers are encouraged to organize release activities. This is an excellent opportunity to share updated information about the landmine situation in your country, progress made in the past year and challenges remaining.

Landmine Monitor has prepared a draft list of national release activities. Before circulating the list broadly we need to confirm details of events being planned. Please send the following information to Jackie Hansen as soon as possible: date, time, location, city, host, speakers, program and contact name/telephone/email.

Resources are being prepared to support national release events. The following are available to download:

  • Report cover
  • Banner
  • Poster
  • Postcard
  • Invitation template (personalize and sent to release participants)

If you need copies of country reports to translate and use in releases please contact lm@icbl.org. All report contents are embargoed until 13 September. This means that contents may not be circulated, cited or quoted until that date.
