Dominica signed the Mine Ban Treaty on 3 December
1997, ratified on 26 March 1999, and the treaty entered into force on 1
September 1999. On 20 August 2002, Dominica submitted its initial Article 7
transparency report in which it stated that it has “neither stockpiled
anti-personnel mines nor been
mine-affected.”[1] It
submitted an annual update covering 2002 and 2003 on 25 April 2003. No national
implementation measures have been detailed in the transparency reports.
Dominica was absent from the vote on pro-ban UN General Assembly Resolution
57/74.
