Saint Vincent and the
Grenadines signed the Mine Ban Treaty on 3 December 1997, ratified on 1 August
2001, and the treaty entered into force on 1 February 2002. It has not yet
enacted domestic implementing legislation. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
cosponsored and voted in favor of the pro-ban UN General Assembly Resolution
57/74 in November 2002. It has not yet submitted its initial Article 7
transparency report, due 31 July 2002, but the Attorney General is aware of this
treaty obligation.[1] Saint
Vincent and the Grenadines has never produced, transferred, stockpiled, or used
antipersonnel mines, and is not
mine-affected.[2]
