Support for Mine Action
In 2012, Ireland contributed €2,837,739 (US$3,649,049)[1] in mine action funding to six countries and one other area. Ireland’s annual contribution in its national currency has declined each year since 2006. The largest contribution in 2012 went to Afghanistan (€927,739/$1,192,980), with three additional states/areas (Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Somaliland) each receiving more than €500,000 ($642,950). Ireland’s contributions in 2012 were the same as in 2011.

Ireland allocated all of its mine action support in 2012 for clearance activities.
In 2008–2012, Ireland’s contribution to mine action totaled more than €17.7 million (almost $25 million), with an average annual contribution of €3.5 million (almost $5 million). However, there has been a sharp decline in annual contributions from 2008 to 2012.
